So MANY zooms - not enough time!! :)
I have been able to see most of you through the magic box called my laptop. I have many meetings every week with you kiddos, Mrs. Dessy, Brewster's Special team and the other elementary art teachers. This is one of our art meetings while we were planning fun activities for you. I hope to see you soon! |
Spring Has Sprung!
Happy spring to my Bulldogs. We were working in the yard before it rained yesterday to get the flower beds ready for all the beautiful flowers waiting to come up. Even Luna was picking up sticks!! I thought it might be fun to draw imaginary gardens or design your own new kind of flower. These are some of my favorite flowers in my garden. Some of them traveled all the way from my grandmother's home in Kansas and are very old! |
Some of my 4th and 5th graders may remember creating a poppy field similar to the ones from "The Wizard of Oz" using foreground, middle ground and background to show perspective or space in your art. I believe my 2nd and 3rd graders worked on pumpkin patches to show these elements of design, Maybe get out those crayons and markers and design your own field of flowers. I love to see fields of sunflowers - they are my favorite!

Playing a board game with the "fam"! SORRY Disney edition was James' pick last night. Although he felt bad every time he sent me back home. By the end of the game we were all having fun saying "SORRY" as sarcastically as we could! It might be a fun activity to create your own board game. For the 2nd/3rd graders I know your Author in April book, The Riot Brothers, they create board games and inventions. Try creating your own board game and playing it with your "fam" or a new invention (mine would do the many more dishes I seem to have with all of us being at home)! Email me a picture or video if you do.
This is my girl Luna. She is very excited to have me and my kids home, but it took her a while to get used to a new routine (just like us)! She loves to bring me her ball and play fetch up and down our long hallway. She is my shadow - wherever I go she follows. If you have a pet, what fun things have you been doing with them? It's always fun to draw a picture of your pet. Practice your skills of using lines, shapes, color, texture and value (light and dark of a color) to create a drawing of your pet. Where is your pet? What adventures are you guys having? I'm going to work on a drawing too. Send me a picture if you do!
